Little Genius has developed its own strategy to implement the The Early Years Learning Framework – Belonging - Being - Becoming in our curriculum, built around learning activities in specific content areas such as “Mathematical Thinking”, “Literary Thinking”, “Scientific/Nature Thinking” and the Arts.
Our program reflects the rich diversity of our community, integrating culturally diverse information/perspectives that providing opportunities for children to thrive in an anti-bias curriculum.
We carefully arrange the environment and the teaching materials to promote active learning, problem solving and independence.
We have three Rooms:
Caterpillars (Baby): children under 2 years old
The Baby Room offers a range of stimulating experiences to foster the development of each child. We provide opportunities for the children to learn through play, both planned and spontaneous catering to the child’s individual interests. The baby room aims to provide a nurturing, caring and safe environment for children to learn, grow and develop with a flexible curriculum, allowing for the changes to children’s routine, catering to their individual needs.
Butterflies (Toddler): children 2 to 3 years of age.
In this room we offer small groups activities with developmentally appropriate lesson plan which focusses on supporting the needs of young children using a holistic approach to programming in order to prepare children for the coming challenges of the pre-school room.
Penguin (Pre-school): children 3 to 6 years of age.
Little Genius Academy Child Care uses exceeding teaching practices in our programs. We encourage teacher-child interaction, where teachers and children are active partners in the learning process, based on children’s individual and collective interests from the environment in which they live, equally merged with "intentional teaching“. This balance approach is critical to the effectiveness of our program.
Literacy and Mathematical concepts are the core foundation of the school readiness program, allowing children to build on basic skills to support their transition to school.
Educators’ practices and the relationships they form with children and families have a significant effect on children’s involvement and success in learning. Children thrive when families and educators work together in partnership to support young children’s learning. Children’s early learning influences their life chances. Wellbeing and a strong sense of connection, optimism and engagement enable children to develop a positive attitude to learning.
The Educators employed at Little Genius Academy Childcare Centre are trained professionals who hold a passion and commitment to the early childhood field and the children in their care.
